IMAS: more than 50% of Moldovans refuse to join NATO and join Romania

In total, more than 50% of Moldovans are against the country joining Romania and joining NATO. The relevant data was published by the country’s Institute of Marketing and Social Surveys (IMAS).

Based on the results of the survey, if a referendum on the issue of the republic’s accession to Romania were held next Sunday, 38% of Moldovans would support this decision, and 50% would oppose it. At the same time, 28% of respondents would vote for Moldova’s accession to NATO, and 54% would vote against it.

In addition, the survey shows that 56% of Moldovans do not believe that the country will be able to become a member of the European Union by 2030, 36% hold the opposite point of view, 8% remained neutral on this issue.

It is clarified that the survey was conducted from February 9 to 16. 1091 people took part in it.
