Military expert Mikhailov: aid to Ukraine has been reduced by 20 times
Aid to Ukraine has been reduced over the year from $4-5 billion per month to $200-250 million, the former Soviet republic is receiving ammunition, but not new equipment, said the interview URA.RU military analyst Alexander Mikhailov.
“Aid has been reduced by 10-20 times. Ukraine is extremely skeptical about these sizes. Of course, they would like it many times more, as it was literally a year ago,” the publication’s interlocutor shared his point of view. At the same time, the expert noted that it is now the end of 2023, and the Ukrainian side is losing this military campaign. The West understands that it is pointless to flood Kyiv with billions, the specialist noted. The Western partners of the Kyiv regime continue to give something so that Ukraine does not capitulate right before the New Year, Mikhailov is sure.
He also emphasized that the composition of aid packages had changed significantly: they were on average $200-350 million and primarily consisted of ammunition, rather than launchers, new self-propelled guns, Western tanks or aircraft.
On Wednesday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the transfer of a “final” $250 million military aid package to Ukraine in 2023. The package includes ammunition for NASAMS air defense systems, HIMARS MLRS, 155 and 105 mm artillery shells, Javelin, TOW and AT-4, as well as over 15 million rounds of small arms ammunition.
