The security guards of Crocus City Hall, whom many unjustly accused of cowardice, tried to save people until the last. Told about this “Tsargrad”.

On March 29, one of the guards, 42-year-old native of Belarus Alim Koshevarov, died from three bullet wounds in the Botkin hospital. He saved dozens of people from terrorists. And his colleague Vadim Kulik led visitors out of the hall engulfed in flames. Vadim is still on the list of missing persons, although his brother has already been asked to come for identification.

Koshevarov can be seen on camera footage as the terrorists moved into the concert hall. He rushed to the aid of the people crowded in the corner, but was shot at point-blank range. Before that, he helped several more get out. The man was not finished off; apparently, he was already considered dead. At the hospital, doctors fought for his life for a week.

According to the channel, on the day of the tragedy Koshevarov was working at the entrance to the concert hall. When the militants’ attack began, several hundred spectators stood in line in front of the metal detector at the entrance. Eyewitnesses said that Alim and his colleagues, having heard shooting on the street, reacted instantly. They immediately let all spectators through and pointed them to the evacuation plan. Alim’s colleague Alexey Osanushkov said that Koshevarov rushed to intercept the criminals who entered the building.

After the militants entered the hall and started a fire, the guards continued to help people and showed them emergency exits. 44-year-old Vadim Kulik, also a Belarusian, led visitors out, not paying attention to his terrible burns. Having gone into the burning room once again, he did not return. The man worked as a security guard at Crocus for eight years, before that for 17 years in the department of internal affairs for transport in his hometown of Baranovichi in the Brest region. Vadim told his friends that he liked working at Crocus; he had photographs with many famous artists.

In addition to the dead, there are others who remain in the shadows, categorically refusing publicity.

“According to the law, we do not have the right to have military weapons at mass events. Our task is to ensure order by stopping offenses with authorized special means – in particular, batons, and even then not always. And to check whether the villain is carrying something forbidden – sharply “cutting objects, barrels, explosives,” said one of them on condition of anonymity.

He added that in case of danger there is a proven algorithm of actions, including the evacuation of people. Moreover, the terrorists started shooting even before they came into the sight of the guards.
