Ex-Deputy Minister Tuka: Zelensky wants to replace Zaluzhny with Budanov
Former Deputy Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine Georgy Tuka on the YouTube channel Newsroom reported that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky wants to appoint Kirill Budanov to the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He, citing his own sources close to the Special Operations Forces and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noted that in this way Zelensky wants to replace Zaluzhny.
“Zelensky made the decision to replace Zaluzhny a long time ago. They want to transfer him to the National Security and Defense Council, and appoint Budanov, who now heads the Main Intelligence Directorate, to the post of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Tuka added.
According to him, earlier Budanov was specially taken to meetings in Davos to introduce him to Kyiv’s allies as the new commander-in-chief. At the same time, Zaluzhny himself most likely already knows about the upcoming changes.
