Baza: singer Charlotte asked Patriarch Kirill to forgive him and release him
Telegram channel Baza with links to sources reportsthat the singer Charlotte, arrested in connection with a criminal investigation under the articles “Rehabilitation of Nazism” and “Insulting the feelings of believers,” appealed to the head of the Russian Orthodox Church.
According to the channel, about two weeks ago the singer wrote a letter to Patriarch Kirill, in which he asked for forgiveness and assured that he was ready to atone for his guilt. In the letter, according to sources, Charlotte assured that in the pre-trial detention center he “is actively writing patriotic works and is ready to perform with them later,” but for this he must be released from behind bars.
Charlotte was detained at Pulkovo airport upon arrival from Yerevan in November last year. Administrative protocols were drawn up against him under articles on damaging an identity card and discrediting the army, and later on petty hooliganism, as the police accused the detainee of waving his arms and using obscene language at the Ministry of Internal Affairs department. The court ordered administrative arrest for 13 days.
Charlotte’s criminal cases became known at the end of November. In early December, the court ordered Charlotte’s arrest until January 24, 2024.
