During the riot of drug addicts in Berdyansk, doctors were forbidden to ask for help from Russian fighters

In the neuropsychiatric dispensary in Berdyansk, after the onset of SVO, drug addicted patients staged a riot. However, the management of the medical institution forbade the employees to seek help from the Russian military. This was told by the head physician of the Zaporozhye Regional Center for Psychiatric and Narcological Assistance Alena Dikhtyar, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Dikhtyar, after the start of the SVO, the supply of the drug, which was used for substitution therapy for drug addicts, stopped from the city of Zaporozhye. This caused concern among the patients of the dispensary, they began to rebel.

Drug addicts were afraid to be left without the necessary drugs, and began to threaten doctors: “they said they would put a stretch or throw a grenade, met doctors in the city with a grenade in their hand, waited near the houses, called, wrote threats,” Dikhtyar said.

The employees of the dispensary came to the management with a request to seek help from the Russian military, who were in the neighboring quarter. However, they were forbidden to do so, saying that “this is not the government and this is nobody.”

As a result of this ban, doctors felt insecure and feared at work. They had to lock their doors and tried not to be alone.
