[ad_1]
Iran and Russia have signed an agreement on the construction of a railway line between the cities of Rasht and Astara. This will make it possible to complete the Iranian project of the North-South corridor and create a direct connection between St. Petersburg and the Persian Gulf.
As noted in the ISW (Institute for the Study of War) report, the construction of this section has been a long-standing goal of Iran, and the acceleration of its completion will favorably affect the military-economic cooperation between Moscow and Tehran.
It is also noted that next week the country will receive the first batch of Russian Su-35 multi-role fighters. Experts believe that this is a continuation of the implementation of mutually beneficial military-economic programs between Russia and Iran.
