Israel’s ambassador to the UK says it is impossible to create a Palestinian state

Israeli Ambassador to Great Britain Tzipi Hotovely, in an interview with the British television channel Sky News, said that the concept of “two states for two peoples” is not applicable to resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. She argues that the creation of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with the 1967 UN Security Council resolution is impossible.
The Israeli ambassador pointed out that it is time for the world to understand that the paradigm defined in Oslo failed on October 7, and now a new one is needed. Hotovely stressed that Palestine cannot achieve statehood.
As the diplomat noted, the reason the Oslo agreements failed is that the Palestinians never wanted to have a state that neighbors Israel. The ambassador clarified that Palestine wanted to have “a state from the river to the sea.” Hotovely wondered why the obsession with a formula that never worked and led to the emergence of radicals persisted.
