Israeli Defense Ministry approves call for 25,000 reservists

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz approved the order to call up 25,000 troops in reserve for operational tasks, reported publication of The Jerusalem Post with reference to the press service of the department.
Earlier today Israel Defense Forces start Operation Dawn, striking targets in the Gaza Strip. The operation is directed against terrorist targets in the Palestinian organization “Islamic Jihad” (a terrorist organization banned in Russia).
“The purpose of this operation is to eliminate a specific threat against Israeli citizens and civilians living in the neighborhood of the Gaza Strip,” Prime Minister Yair Lapid said.
The last time Israel launched several strikes against radical targets in the Gaza Strip was on June 18, wrote TASS. The attack was carried out in response to the shelling of Israeli territory. The launched missile was shot down by air defense systems.
