Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant held a meeting on the growing number of reservists refusing to report for military service in protest against “judicial reform”.
IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi warned Galant that if the coalition continued to push for judicial reform, it could damage the army’s combat capability.
According to the security forces, the reform has not yet caused real damage to the operational capabilities of the IDF, but it is of great concern to the army leadership.
Let me remind you that every few hours there are reports of more and more statements and protests among the reservists. They cover the air force, special forces, military intelligence, cyber troops and other types of troops. So far, refusals are not massive, but, judging by the reports of the reservists themselves, we can talk about thousands of “refuseniks”.
