On Saturday, February 25, the European Union officially adopted the tenth package of sanctions, affecting more than 120 legal entities and individuals, as well as expanding the list of goods allowed for export from Russia.
Among the individuals targeted by the sanctions was Yakov Kedmi (Kazakov), an Israeli citizen who is a political observer, a regular guest on Russian state television channels and a participant in pro-Kremlin propaganda broadcasts.
The EU decision to include Kedmi in the list of sanctions was explained by the fact that he justified the fighting in Ukraine, questioned Ukraine’s right to independence, accused the Ukrainian authorities of “Nazism”, claimed that Ukraine poses a threat to Russia and talked about the possibility of occupying the entire territory of Ukraine by the Russian army, as well as the liquidation of the armed forces and the leadership of Ukraine.
Listing on the EU sanctions list means a ban on any financial transactions in the EU, an asset freeze in EU countries and a ban on entry / transit through the EU.
