Israeli chief rabbis urge people to pray for rain
[ad_1]
Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel David Lau and Chief Sephardic Rabbi of Israel Yitzhak Yosef appealed to the citizens of the country to start praying for rain.
The population is recommended to read the prayer “El Hai Iftah Ozrot Shamaim” (“The Almighty will open the treasury of heaven”) on Saturdays, and, if possible, on Mondays and Thursdays, newsru.co.il reports.
The rabbis took this step because of the disappointing data from the authorities that the current winter season has become one of the driest. Thus, the January increase in water in Lake Kinneret was the lowest since 1964.
