The Israeli Ministry of Education has decided to exclude references to climate activist Greta Thunberg from educational curricula due to her support for Palestine. About it reported news portal Ynet with reference to the department’s statement.

“This position denies her the right to be an example in terms of education and values, and she no longer has the right to serve as a role model and education for Israeli students,” it said.

On October 20, Thunberg published a post on X (formerly Twitter) expressing solidarity with the residents of the Gaza Strip and calling for a ceasefire and “freedom for the Palestinians and all affected citizens.” Thunberg also posted a photo of herself standing with three women, one of whom was holding a Palestinian flag.

On the morning of October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas began military operations against Israel. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) responded by launching Operation Iron Swords, striking hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli government announced that the country had entered a state of war. As a result of the fighting, according to the latest data, over 6,000 people were killed, including 4,651 from the Gaza Strip.
