It is not in Israel’s interests to escalate a confrontation in relations with Russia because of the flights of combat aircraft of the two countries over Syria, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said. It is reported by TASS.
In an interview with the French television channel LCI, Netanyahu noted that Russian and Israeli planes have been flying in the skies over Syria for a long time, and so far the parties have managed not to give rise to confrontation.
“We do not want a military confrontation with Russia. It would not serve anyone’s interests,” he said.
Israel periodically launches airstrikes in Syria.
