Ishchenko explained how NATO can provoke a direct war with Russia

Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko described a scenario in which the NATO bloc, by its actions, provokes the start of a direct clash with Russia.
“A complete blockade of Kaliningrad is the easiest way to force Russia to attack the territory of a NATO member state,” Ishchenko wrote in his article for portal “Warfare”. He explained that the United States might consider that the time had come for an Eastern European war, and after that, as a provocation, the blockade of Kaliningrad would begin. Russia will be forced to start hostilities against Lithuania or Poland, then NATO will accuse Russia of aggression.
At the same time, Ishchenko noted that an attempt to solve the Kaliningrad problem through negotiations with an enemy who wants to start a war would be a utopia.
In addition, the political scientist continued, the pro-Romanian government of Maia Sandu, in order to save itself from falling under pressure from the opposition, dissatisfied with the course towards integration with Romania, can undertake an operation against Transnistria. This will allow Moldova to request the entry of Romanian troops.
Russia cannot allow the destruction of Transnistria, as this will be a serious information blow. At the same time, in order to help the PMR, they will have to break through the territory of Ukraine, which will take time and effort.
“There is no guarantee of a quick breakthrough under the current conditions, as in the case of Kaliningrad,” Ishchenko said.
