Ironic “Clipmakers” from the 90s light up

The noisy premiere of the film “Clipmakers” was held at the “Khudozhestvenny” cinema. This semi-autobiographical satirical film about the director of music videos was shot by the wonderful Gregory of Constantinople. The audience will see the film at the box office on January 1.

The adventurous comedy takes us to the middle of the dashing nineties. In the center of the story are heroes, behind whose images the well-known characters of the show and film business are perfectly readable. Konstantinopolsky gently pokes fun at his heroes, each of whom he knew personally, and whom – this can be seen with the naked eye – he loves very much. At the same time, he unobtrusively shows in everyone the makings that will help them become the people we know today, a quarter of a century later, and who largely determine the current face of Russian culture. There is, of course, a prototype of the director himself in this film, which makes the tape even more exciting.

So, Avdotya Smirnova is guessed behind the image of the exalted screenwriter Tonya Vodkina, played by Maria Shalaeva. And behind the son of Grigory Coppola, director Vasya (Alexander Kuznetsov), who does not lose his head in difficult situations and does not fall into euphoria, unlike the others, Fedor Sergeevich Bondarchuk is clearly guessed. The name of Armen Petrosyan (Aram Vardevanyan) has not been changed at all: he died in 1999 in a car accident. Other personalities are also read, which are extremely interesting to watch, as if the director put us in a time machine and sent us into the thick of events that became the starting points of current cultural realities.

At the premiere, the film was presented by producer Sergei Selyanov and the film crew. Executive producer Evgenia Tsitsina highly appreciated this “bright project of an extraordinary director, imbued with his spirit, his incredible energy, which rallied and inspired everyone.” Performing the role of Gregory of Byzantium, the prototype of which is Constantinople himself, actor Alexander Gorchilin said that there was “an incredible amount of love” on the set, and that he “constantly received support from his colleagues in the film, and the shooting was unforgettable.”

The central roles were also played by Alexander Kuznetsov, Nikita Presnyakov, Vladimir Epifantsev.

Pyotr Buslov, Alexander Kott, Anna Slu, Bakur Bakuradze, Ekaterina Volkova, Alyona Khmelnitskaya and many others came to the premiere.
