Anton Gaer, a resident of Irkutsk, swam across Baikal along the entire length in 16 days alone, according to the Championship website.
He made his journey on a SUP board, the route from the southernmost point of the lake to the northernmost point at 682.2 km took 16 days, 2 hours and 22 minutes.
The broadcast of the trip was carried out online in social networks. Reportedly, at the beginning of the journey, when the weather was good, the Irkutsk citizen stopped only for sleep and food. Later, he had to take a break in order to wait out the thunderstorms and waves.
It turned out that this method of transportation is quite dangerous due to the large number of wild animals, mainly bears. After completing the journey, the Irkutsk citizen announced that he was going to conquer Elbrus.
