Iranian Foreign Minister denied data on the supply of drones to Russia

Iran has never supplied Russia with drones and weapons. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Hossein Amir Abdollahian, NHK TV channel reports.
“[Во время] conflict in Ukraine, we have never supplied Iranian drones or weapons to Russia,” he stressed at a press conference in Tokyo (quote according to TASS). The Iranian minister is on a visit to Japan, where he is scheduled to hold talks with his colleague Yoshimasa Hayashi.
Amir Abdollahian added that Iran is cooperating with Russia in various fields, including trade, economy and tourism. According to him, the Russian Federation is an “important neighboring country” for the republic.
The head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry also drew attention to the fact that it is the supply of weapons to Kyiv from Europe and the United States “leads to further destruction and slaughter.”
Previously, Russian and Iranian authorities have repeatedly denied the supply of Iranian drones. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov saidthat during the special operation “Russian equipment with Russian names” is used. He called media reports about the supply of Iranian drones to Russia “information stuffing.”
At the same time, in November 2022, Iran acknowledgedthat handed over a limited number of drones to Russia in the months before the start of hostilities in Ukraine. In December, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya emphasizedthat Iranian drones were not used in Ukraine.
