The International Olympic Committee (IOC) supported WADA’s intention to challenge the decision of RUSADA (Russian Anti-Doping Committee) that figure skater Kamila Valieva is not guilty.
Earlier, WADA reported that RUSADA acquitted Valiyeva, stating that the banned substance trimetazidine found during a doping test could have entered the body of an athlete due to grandfather’s drugs.
The World Anti-Doping Agency reminded that they have the opportunity to appeal to the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport).
As a result, Valieva was deprived of the gold of the 2022 Russian Championship.
