The government of the Nizhny Novgorod region announced plans to complete the construction of sports and recreation centers in the Nizhny Novgorod region and Sormovo within the framework of concessions.
The construction of sports complexes on Korablestroiteley Avenue and Rodionova Street was started by the Region-NN company, but back in 2017 it was declared bankrupt. The search for new investors dragged on for several years; meanwhile, unfinished buildings were destroyed. As a result, it was decided to demolish them and build again. It was previously reported that the projects of sports and recreation centers provide, in particular, the presence of halls for sports games, and in the future they may be added to swimming pools.
The volume of necessary investments is estimated at approximately two billion rubles. For private capital this is a large amount, so in the future they will use a public-private partnership scheme in the form of a concession with the involvement of federal budget funds.
According to the Minister of Sports of the region, Alexander Kononov, new investors have received the necessary preliminary approvals; during October-November they must undergo public procedures established by law, after which concession agreements will be concluded.
It is expected that the sports complex on Korablestroiteley Avenue will be put into operation before the end of 2025, and on Rodionova Street a little later, but until 2030.
