Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on terrorism after the attack of drones

The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on terrorism on the fact of a drone attack in Moscow. About it reported in the department.

The criminal case was initiated under Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorist act), the maximum punishment for which is life imprisonment.

The department clarified that the Forensic Expert Center of the UK, as well as experienced forensic experts and investigators, will participate in the investigation of the case.

Drones attacked several rear in Moscow on the morning of May 30th. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said that no one was seriously injured as a result of the incident, two people sought medical help, which they received on the spot, but no one needed hospitalization.

At the Prosecutor General’s Office toldthat drones hit residential buildings in the capital on the street. Atlasov in New Moscow, on the street. Profsoyuznaya and on Leninsky Prospekt. Incidents were also recorded in the Moscow region – 500 meters from the Ilyinsky highway in Krasnogorsk and in the Odintsovo urban district.

According to the Ministry of Defense, eight drones were involved in the attack, five of which were shot down, the rest were suppressed by electronic warfare and deviated from the targets. The ministry called the strikes a “terrorist act.”

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov declaredthat the drone attack on Moscow was Kyiv’s response to effective strikes by Russian military personnel on one of the decision-making centers on Sunday, May 28.
