Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang meets with Elon Musk in Beijing
Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang held a meeting with American billionaire Elon Musk. During the meeting in Beijing, Qin Gang emphasized that China will continue to steadily promote openness to companies from all over the world, including Tesla.
“Healthy, stable and constructive Sino-US relations are beneficial to the whole world,” the official website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry quoted his minister as saying.
Elon Musk responded by saying that his company Tesla will continue to expand its business in China. As he put it, the interests of the US and China are so intertwined that they are “inseparable from each other, like Siamese twins.”
In China, Musk’s Gigafactory Shanghai is the largest in terms of production of Tesla cars. And the Chinese market is the second in sales for the manufacturer of electric vehicles after the American one.
Tesla previously announced plans to build a massive Megapack battery factory in Shanghai.
