Kommersant FM columnist Alexander Levi talks about the cloud platform for the industrial Internet of things, which was implemented for the first time in Russia by EKF.

The Russian company EKF was the first in the country to develop and implement its own cloud platform for the industrial Internet of things, EKF Connect Industry. The vendor, with the support of the Industrial Development Fund, launched a pilot project at one of its factories in the Vladimir region. The government agency provided half of the investment for modernization in the amount of 288 million rubles.

According to EKF calculations, the use of their service helps to increase the productivity of technological equipment from 7% to 15%, reduce energy consumption costs by 10-15% in the first year, with a subsequent decrease in this indicator by another 3-5%.

The EKF Connect Industry industrial Internet of things platform operates in the Yandex cloud. This solution immediately closes the issue of security and scaling, explained representatives of the electrical engineering company. So far, the new service is undergoing trial operation at its own production facilities and in more than a dozen different industrial and infrastructure facilities. The company is launching open beta testing in April and will be ready to offer its development to other businesses.

Data from machines, production lines and other industrial equipment is transferred to the EKF platform using common industrial protocols. The service processes the received information and presents visual analytics to the user. Moreover, diagrams, graphs and other assessment scenarios can be created independently, depending on the tasks of a particular production.

The company plans to add artificial intelligence tools to the current mathematical algorithms in EKF Connect Industry in the near future.
