International reserves of the Russian Federation increased by 0.7% from July 22 to July 29

“The volume of international reserves as of July 29 amounted to $571.2 billion, having increased over the week by $4.2 billion, or 0.7%, under the influence of a positive revaluation,” the regulator said in a statement.

Approximately half of Russia’s gold and foreign exchange reserves are frozen due to sanctions imposed in response to the Russian military operation in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the year, their volume has decreased by $63.6 billion.

Russian President Vladimir Putin in mid-July signed a law that allows you to keep secret data on the country’s gold and foreign exchange reserves. The law was adopted at the initiative of the government against the backdrop of sanctions risks.
