International open water swim X-WATERS Nuclear took place in Desnogorsk

In the Smolensk region in Desnogorsk, with the support of the Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant, the III International open water swim X-WATERS Nuclear took place, in which more than 500 athletes from Russia and foreign countries took part.
During the competition, swimmers had to overcome about 1,333 kilometers to the reservoir of the Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant.
As the head of the city of Desnogorsk, Anatoly Terletsky, noted, the organizers and volunteers did a lot of work to make the stay of athletes and spectators comfortable.
Let us remind you that X-WATERS is the largest international swimming series founded in Russia. At the same time, it is focused not only on sports, but also on travel, as well as a responsible attitude towards the environment.
X-WATERS Nuclear launch director Kirill Senshinov thanked the management and the trade union of Smolensk nuclear workers and volunteers, noting that all the athletes following the results of the swim are already looking forward to a similar opportunity next year.
The championship was held at different distances so that participants, people of different ages and different professions, could choose a test according to their strength. The most difficult 10-kilometer distance was chosen by experienced swimmers.

It should be noted that currently in Russia more and more attention is being paid to supporting various competitions and events aimed at popularizing sports among young people and developing accessible sports infrastructure. Rosatom and its enterprises are actively working in this direction.
