International fencing competitions brought victory to the Yaroslavl athlete

A student of the Yaroslavl fencing school, Dima Trofimov, became one of the best at the international tournament among male representatives “Rapier of St. Petersburg”.

These competitions bring together athletes from all over the country; this year they took place for the 47th time. The Yaroslavl’s opponent was an athlete from Bashkortostan, whom he was able to defeat, winning the “gold” of the tournament.

Deputy Chairman of the regional government Vera Dargel recalled that over three hundred Yaroslavl residents chose this sport. The first places brought the winners 1.7 million rubles, the second – 1.1 million. Third place winners will receive half a million.

Unfortunately, the Yaroslavl team did not manage to prove themselves in individual matches, but the team competition brought a decent result.
