International Fascist Committee: IOC issued a vile anti-Russian document

[ad_1]

The IOC is back in the dark days of the fascist Olympics. On January 25, the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee issued a grandiose document in its idiocy and meanness, overshadowing all previous official and private instructions and recommendations on sanctions against Russian and Belarusian sports. At the same time, I mustered up the audacity to present it as a defense of the peace-making unifying spirit of sport, which helps our athletes return to international competitions and tournaments. For what they, in particular, will have to pass some individual checks. If during the checks it is established that one of our athletes who expressed a desire to participate in such international competitions opposed the IOC peacekeeping mission, actively supporting the IOC, or did not fully comply with the World Anti-Doping Code, then he should be immediately removed from the competition, remove from further participation in tournaments and send the “incident” to the IOC for further action and sanctions.

Even after passing the “cleanliness commission”, Russian and Belarusian athletes will have the right to appear at the stadiums only in a neutral status and in no way represent their state or any other organization in their country, as is already happening in professional leagues, especially in Europe, the USA and Canada, as well as in some individual professional sports. In addition, no flags, anthems, colors or any other identifying marks of these countries (Russia and Belarus) are displayed at any sporting event or meeting, including at the entire facility. “Neither the Russian nor Belarusian governments or government officials should be invited or accredited to any international sporting event or meeting. No international sporting events organized or supported by international federations or national Olympic committees are held in Russia or Belarus.”

With all this, the IOC still has the audacity to say in this document that it (again in the text of the document) is firmly committed to the unifying mission of the Olympic Movement, respects the rights of all athletes to be treated without any discrimination in accordance with the Olympic Charter and that no athlete should be prevented from competing just because of his passport.

Carefully reading the “Statement of Solidarity with Ukraine, Sanctions against Russia and Belarus and the Status of Athletes from these Countries”, this is exactly the title of this silly letter, it becomes clear why the IOC is so afraid of accusations of racism and xenophobia.

First, there is the “Letter from the Special Rapporteur on Cultural Rights and the Special Rapporteur on Contemporary Forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance to the UN Human Rights Council”, expressing serious concern about the recommendation to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials individuals, such as judges, compete in international competitions solely on the basis of their nationality, which raises serious questions of discrimination.

Secondly, there is the resolution of the UN General Assembly A/77/L.28: “Sport as a factor of sustainable development”, adopted by all UN member states on December 1, 2022, including Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. It recognizes that major international sporting events should be organized in a spirit of peace and that the unifying and conciliatory nature of such events should be respected.

This is probably why the IOC concludes its statement with a reference to the situation involving individual athletes from the former Yugoslavia in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. Recalling that United Nations sanctions were then in force against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, calling on all Member States to take the necessary measures to prevent the participation in sporting events on their territory of persons or groups representing the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. However, even under this UN sanctions regime, the participation of independent athletes was allowed at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992.

Remember, in the headline of the IOC tsidulka, Ukraine was mentioned? This is because he expresses the unanimous support that has become so fashionable today for Ukrainian athletes and the Ukrainian Olympic community, who simply must have a strong team from the NOC of Ukraine at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan. The IOC also calls on all International Federations and National Committees to make every possible effort to facilitate the education, training and participation of Ukrainian athletes in international sporting events.

At the same time, anyone who wishes can easily find numerous examples of Russophobic and misanthropic statements by these very athletes, heads of clubs, teams and sports organizations in relation to Russia and Belarus. But this is completely different … Someone in the West sends them “Leopards”, and someone trains athletes, many of whom are already in the defense and national battalions.

“No politics can and should not interfere with sports, there is no place for speculation about SVO. The IOC, in its decision, speaks about the possibility of admitting athletes, trying to show the flexibility of its position.

At the same time, we consider it unacceptable to determine special conditions for participation for athletes that are inconsistent with the Olympic Charter, the principles of equality and justice, ”said Oleg Matytsin, Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, to Match TV.

“I perceive the information from the IOC as an attempt to take a step towards the athletes. But at the same time, unfortunately, it is also two steps in the opposite direction! We still categorically disagree with any restrictions, additional requirements and sanctions that relate to the nationality of our athletes and are again offered to us as a condition for returning to the international arena, ”wrote ROC head Stanislav Pozdnyakov in his telegram channel.

“This is a provocation, and we will not go for it. Athletes are worried because the life of an athlete is short, but now is not the case when we can make some concessions, ”Irina Rodnina told Match TV.

To be fair, it’s still worth noting that the IOC statement gives our athletes, with all the reservations, the opportunity to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. As stated in it, the members of the Executive Committee welcomed and highly appreciated the proposal of the Olympic Council of Asia to provide our and Belarusian athletes with access to Asian competitions.

In December 2022, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) made a proposal at the Olympic Summit in Lausanne to promote the participation of athletes from Russia and Belarus in competitions under its auspices. The representatives of the international federations present supported this initiative. On January 25, 2023, the OCA once again invited Russia and Belarus to take part in the Asian Games, which will be held from September 23 to October 8 in China. Presidential aide Igor Levitin has already thanked the OCA for its readiness to host Russian athletes and said that the organization’s support was an important factor in the IOC’s decision to return Russians to international tournaments. “The Olympic community understands that the Olympic Games cannot take place without Russia,” Levitin said.

It also became known that the International Ski Federation (FIS) will discuss the IOC’s statement on the admission of Russians at the next board meeting, Match TV reported.

Should we be surprised at the two-faced and vile position of the IOC? No. This organization has always been the first to violate the principles set forth in the Olympic Charter, hiding behind beautiful words about unity and peacemaking. Suffice it to recall the XI Summer Olympic Games of 1936, held in Berlin, and the IV Winter Olympic Games of 1936, held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which were opened personally by Adolf Hitler.

It is noteworthy that on the eve of that Olympics, the IOC and the host country, Germany, quite naturally, had many questions. Because of this, I even had to make several inspection trips to Berlin. For a personal acquaintance with the state of German physical culture and mass sports and the preparations for the Games in August 1935, even the Honorary President of the IOC, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founding father of the modern Olympic movement and the compiler of the Olympic Charter, came. He was so fascinated by what he saw that he was going to bequeath to Nazi Germany the rights to his books (more than 12 thousand pages of text) and made a vivid speech on the German state radio, in which, in particular, he called Hitler one of the best creative spirits of our era.

Moreover, the members of the IOC special inspection commission, who also visited Berlin, did not see anything that could harm the Olympic movement.

Apparently, since that time, ideas about the usefulness and effectiveness of “cleanliness commissions” have been ingrained in the memory of the IOC leadership.
