How did the idea for the exhibition come about?

On March 29, 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on organizing the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia” in 2023–2024 at VDNKh “in order to demonstrate the country’s most important achievements in various sectors of the economy, as well as to promote further international cooperation of the Russian Federation.”

The chairman of the organizing committee was the first deputy head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kiriyenko. During the first three days of operation, the exhibition was visited by 448 thousand people.

Visiting the exhibition is free. Registration on the official website is required for certain events. The exhibition is open to all visitors from November 4, 2023 to April 12, 2024.

What to see at the Russia exhibition

One of the central objects of the exhibition will be gallery “Achievements of Russia”. This is a huge collider-shaped tunnel, almost 10 m high and 166 m long, inside which there are interactive installations with the most important inventions and events.

Guests are greeted at the entrance to the exhibition installation based on the “Embroidered Map of Russia”. This map was created by hand in 2022 by craftswomen from Chuvashia and other regions.

At the exhibition you can fly simulator of the newest Russian airliner MS-21 And visit the Mir bathyscaphe. Presented at the stand of the Kaliningrad region interactive model of an amber quarry, where, with the help of a controlled mini-excavator, anyone can independently extract amber. At the stand of the Republic of Buryatia there is an improvised Mi-8/17 helicopter cockpit.

During From November 8 to January 14, regional days are planned at the exhibition, where the head of each subject will talk about the achievements of recent years. The Days of the Russian Economy will be held at the exhibition from January 15 to February 9. From February 12 to March 7, deputy prime ministers and heads of federal departments will talk about achievements in fulfilling government tasks.

All 89 regions, 22 federal executive authorities, as well as 20 companies, corporations and public organizations are taking part in the exhibition. A total of 131 expositions are presented.
