Institute of education: health became the main value of youth in 2022

The Institute for the Study of Childhood, Family and Education published results annual monitoring of the value orientations of students (14-18 years old) and young people (19-35 years old) in Russia. For 60% of students, an active life position is not a priority, and health, both physical and mental, has become the main value for most of the students surveyed (61%) and young people (65%), follows from the research data.
Other value orientations popular among young people identified in the study are:
- the presence of good and true friends (indicated by 46% of students and 32% of young people);
- active active life (40%; 34%);
- love (36%; 36%);
- financially secure life (35%; 41%).
- interesting work (27%; 31%);
- happy family life (27%; 40%);
- self-confidence (24%; 21%);
- freedom (23%; 16%).
Among the values that did not become popular among the respondents are public recognition, for which young people and students voted equally (11% each); the happiness of others (5%; 6%) and religion (5% each).
The most priority personality traits for young people and students, according to the study, were good manners (60%; 64%), responsibility (44%; 51%) and cheerfulness (42%; 44%). Young people voted least of all for courage in defending their own opinions (13%), while students voted for tolerance for the views and opinions of others (14%).
