Industrial production in Russia increased by 3.5% in 2023 – Kommersant

Industrial production in Russia at the end of 2023 increased by 3.5% compared to 2022, follows from statistics Rosstat. Rosstat’s annual assessment of the development of industrial production almost coincided with the current forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development, which expected growth of 3.6%.
In December 2023, according to Rosstat estimates, industrial production slowed down to 2.7% in annual terms. In November last year the figure was at 4.5%. In monthly terms in December 2023, industrial production increased by 9.7%.
According to Rosstat, industrial production in the mining sector in December 2023 in annual terms decreased by 1.1% compared to November results. The manufacturing industry slowed to 5.1% annual growth in December. Production in the supply of electricity, gas and steam increased by 1.6% in December. In the water supply, sanitation and waste management industry, annual growth accelerated to 5.4% in December.
From Rosstat statistics it follows that the maximum growth in production in 2023 was shown by industries related to the production of computers – 32.8%, finished metal products (except machinery and equipment) – 27.8%. Production of vehicles, including aircraft, increased by 25.5%.
