Indonesian authorities are preparing an amendment to the law that would criminalize extramarital sex, reports Reuters.
For this act violators face a term of imprisonment of up to 1 year. Cohabitation before marriage will also be punished.
In addition, the country’s authorities are preparing a number of changes in the criminal law of Indonesia. So, for a term of up to 3 years in prison, those who offended the president or employees of state bodies will be punished. It will also be impossible to express a point of view that contradicts the official ideology of the country.
There are concessions – for example, a person sentenced to death can be pardoned if he has good behavior, but only after 10 years.
Currently, Indonesia has already criminalized black magic and abortion, except in cases where the pregnancy was due to rape.
