Air India passengers stranded in Magadan fly to US
Passengers who were flying on an Air India plane en route from New Delhi (India) to San Francisco (USA) and unplannedly landed in Magadan due to a malfunction, flew to their destination. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office.
The ministry said the plane took off at 10:27 local time (02:27 Moscow time). The reserve aircraft arrived in the Russian city on Thursday morning.
Earlier it was reported that the plane should arrive in Magadan on June 7, but then its arrival was postponed to the next day.
An Air India plane made an emergency landing in Magadan on Tuesday morning, June 6, due to a malfunction of one of the engines. There were 220 passengers and 16 crew members on board.
When examining the aircraft, it turned out that it would not be possible to fix the malfunction on the spot, it was necessary to call another board.
