The first rocket launch in the country’s history took place in India as part of a future orbital manned mission, reports The Times of India. The crew module undocked from the rocket and splashed down in the Bay of Bengal.
The launch took place at 10:00 (7:30 Moscow time), although it was supposed to take place at 8:00. It was rescheduled twice: first due to weather conditions, then due to problems with the rocket.
India approved the Gaganyaan crew mission in December 2018. Unmanned flights must take place before the first human flight. The purpose of the first is to separate the crew module at an altitude of 17 km and launch it into the water. The launch of the mission is being prepared for 2025.
