President Vladimir Putin said that the indexation of payments, benefits and compensation by 7.4% from February 1 affected 20 million Russians. The February increase affected, in particular, maternity capital, a one-time benefit for the birth of a child, and monthly cash payments to veterans of combat operations and the Great Patriotic War.
“Since February 1, more than 40 different payments for almost 20 million people have been indexed by 7.4%. This includes maternity capital for the first child – it has now become 630 thousand rubles, – for the second child – 833 thousand rubles,” the president said at a meeting with members of the government.
Vladimir Putin noted that from January 1, the minimum wage increased by 18.5%. Now it is 19,242 rubles. The unified benefit for families with children and pregnant women, as well as the insurance pension of 31 million non-working pensioners, was indexed by 7.5%, the head of state noted.
Payments, benefits and compensation are indexed annually from February 1. The indexation coefficient is calculated taking into account the consumer price index for the previous year. In 2024 it will be 1.074.
