During the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (ZNPP), three “arrivals” fell on the territory next to the storage of radioactive isotopes, wrote representative of the military-civilian administration (CAA) of the region Vladimir Rogov in his Telegram channel.

“At least three arrivals were recorded in the area of the storage of radioactive isotopes. The station specialists were instructed to move to protected premises, ”Rogov wrote.

According to him, now the devices at the power plant do not record any pollution, and the radiation background is in a normal state. “As for the puffs of smoke that users of social networks fix, a fire broke out in the field as a result of a break in power lines,” the representative of the CAA added.

Earlier, Rogov said that the Ukrainian military carried out another shelling of the territory of Energodar and the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and heavy artillery. According to him, five “arrivals” were recorded in the area of the station’s commandant’s office, and five more – in the area of the fire station not far from the ZNPP.

On August 10, the G7 foreign ministers demanded that Russia “immediately” return the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant to Ukrainian control. They expressed concern about the current situation, which “increases the risk of a nuclear accident and endangers the population of Ukraine and the entire world community.”

On the same day, Russia demanded that a meeting of the UN Security Council be held on August 11 in connection with the attacks by the Ukrainian military on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. As a speaker, Russia asked the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi to take part.
