Due to anomalous cold weather down to -37°C, intercity bus flights were canceled in Yekaterinburg. So, today, January 9, there was no flight from the Ural capital to Kostanay (Kazakhstan), which passes through the Chelyabinsk region, reported on the site of the Chelyabinsk bus station.
Another 27 flights from Yekaterinburg to other cities were also canceled, including Zarechny, Pervouralsk, Sagra, Tyumen, Novouralsk, Nizhny Tagil, and Severouralsk. Information about this is posted on the Northern Bus Station website, but the reason for the cancellation is not specified.
In addition, in Yekaterinburg, due to frost, schoolchildren were allowed not to attend classes. Educational institutions continue to work in the usual format, however, parents retain the right not to take their children to school. Formerly the Ministry of Education of the Sverdlovsk Region recommended school principals to consider organizing distance learning due to low temperatures. However, the mayor’s office of Yekaterinburg decided not to introduce distance.
