Over the past three days, thirteen people ended up in a hospital in the capital of Primorye after swimming in the sea. All of them were stung by jellyfish.
As Kommersant was told in the press service of the Ministry of Health of the region, the age of the victims is from 17 to 66 years. Patients complain of joint pain and cough. Incidents with jellyfish stings occurred in the area of Muravyinaya Bay, Novik Bay on Russky Island and on the beach of the Sanatornaya recreation area. The Ministry of Health expects that the stay of jellyfish victims in the hospital will last 3-4 days and after treatment all patients will be discharged.
“Doctors note that for a hot summer, such a number of victims (from jellyfish stings— “b”) is the norm, ”said the representative of the Ministry of Health.
In the last week, daily air temperature in the south of Primorye exceeds 30 degrees, and the sea near Vladivostok warmed up to 24 degrees.
