In Ulan-Ude, amateur athletes celebrated the Olympic day of running

More than 40 runners took part in the 10 km cross for the prizes of Mikhail Gergenov, deputy of the People’s Khural of Buryatia. The sporting event took place today, June 24, on Bogorodsky Island in Ulan-Ude and is timed to coincide with the Olympic Day of Running, celebrated annually on June 23.
Athletes aged 16 to 70 took part in the cross-country.
– The struggle in all age categories unfolded from the first meters tense. There were simply no unprepared runners. Everyone was determined to fight hard, the girls did not give in to the fast guys, – comments Mikhail Gergenov, deputy of the People’s Khural.
All winners in all age categories received medals, certificates and cash prizes. The winners in their groups were Oksana Fedorova, Oksana Fadeeva, Tatyana Secretina, Maxim Fedorov, Sergey Efimov, Andrey Samdanov and Arkady Belousov.
“The sports festival on the Olympic day of running was a great success today!” say the participants of the sporting event.
