Air Force speaker Ignat: Ukraine will receive modified F-16s
The first batch of fourth-generation F-16 fighters for Ukraine will be modified, and not only the United States, but also Europe will be involved in the improvement. This was announced by the speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Yuriy Ignat during the telethon.
He claims that Kyiv’s allies are already preparing the first batch of fighters for transfer.
“Everything is going according to plan, as provided for in the agreements with our partners within the created coalition, they are helping us switch to a new type of aircraft for us – the F-16,” Ignat said.
He explained why the first batch of aircraft will be modified. According to him, the West will transfer just such fighters, since countries are improving the F-16 to the best of their abilities, and the process itself is very complex.
It is worth noting that earlier the Dutch authorities announced that they were preparing the first 18 F-16s for transfer to Kyiv.
