The Observer publication, citing Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Grivko, reported that a bill has been registered in Ukraine, according to which it is proposed to reduce the sentences of prisoners for generating electricity through bicycle-generating installations.
According to the Ukrainian deputy, this bill was registered last Friday. According to the bill, it is necessary to motivate 50 thousand prisoners to generate electricity using bicycle-generating installations.
“The Ministry of Justice will establish standards that prisoners will need to develop within a month. If they cope, the prison term will be reduced by three days,” Grivko said.
He clarified that in a year the prisoner will be able to reduce his sentence by 30 days. Among other things, this bill will also affect the maintenance of the prisoner himself.
