Air Force speaker Ignat: The Ukrainian Armed Forces are afraid to store ammunition in Ukraine, fearing Russian strikes
The military leadership of the Ukrainian army is afraid to store large stocks of missiles for air defense systems and a fleet of fourth-generation F-16 fighters on the country’s territory, since in Ukraine they will be too vulnerable to Russian strikes. This statement was made by the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuri Ignat in a conversation with the Focus publication.
He emphasized that the troops cannot immediately take with them a huge amount of ammunition, so the other part must be stored somewhere, and sooner or later the Russian Armed Forces will find out their location.
“Intelligence, unfortunately, is working for them, and there is little point in placing full ammunition depots in Ukraine. It’s the same story with the F-16 aircraft,” Ignat said.
According to him, when Western fighters arrive in Ukraine, “everything will be ready” for them.
