By the end of 2023, Ukraine intends to “produce tens of thousands” of drones every month, said Ukrainian Minister for Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The Ukrainian minister spoke at the NATO industrial forum in Sweden. According to him, Ukraine is increasing the pace of production of drones faster than other types of weapons and ammunition. At the same time, he did not name the monthly production volumes of drones in the country at the moment, limiting himself to the figure of “several thousand units.”
Earlier, the commander of a company of attack UAVs of the armed formations of Ukraine, Yuriy Fedorenko, said that the Russian Armed Forces have a significant advantage in the number and use of FPV drones on the front line.
Former head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov stated that the Ukrainian army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has more than 20 new types of domestic drones, and announced a “boom in the production” of drones in Ukraine. It was also reported that plans to allocate about 31.6 billion hryvnia (about $867 million) for the purchase of drones for the Ukrainian army.
