The National Commission of Ukraine for State Language Standards has allowed the words “Russia”, “Russian Federation” and “Moscow” to be written in small letters in unofficial texts.
According to the Ukrainian News agency, we are also talking about such words as “Muscovy”, “Moscow Kingdom”, “Russian Empire”, “State Duma of the Russian Federation” and others.
The statement of the National Commission says that writing these words with a lowercase letter will not be a deviation from the norm of the Ukrainian language. But we are talking about texts of an unofficial nature.
Earlier, the Minister of Education of Ukraine Oksen Lisovoy signed an order to write the words “Russian Federation” in capital letters, explaining this by the requirement of the Ministry of Justice.
