In the city of Khmelnytsky in western Ukraine, a monument to the T-34 tank was dismantled. According to the mayor of the city Alexander Simchishin, this procedure was deliberately timed to coincide with the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the Holodomor.
The monument stood at the local House of Officers. and then in the central urban north 55 years. According to the mayor, this is a unique historical exhibit, no one will dispose of it. The tank is planned to be transferred to the museum.
After the start of the SVO in Ukraine, a mass demolition of monuments, one way or another connected with the history of the USSR and Russia, began. In early November, a monument to Soviet soldiers “Ukraine – Liberators” was dismantled in Uzhgorod. A few days from the street of the city of Kremenchug, Poltava region of Ukraine, a monument to Alexander Pushkin was removed. In Odessa, a decision was made to demolish the monument to the founders of the city.
