Ukrainian former ambassador to Germany Melnik accused Germany of the failure of the Minsk agreements
Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, former Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk said that Germany is to blame for the failure of the Minsk agreements, the RBC-Ukraine portal reports.
According to Melnik, Germany was unable to become an “honest broker” in the negotiation process, as “the interests of a neutral mediator were too mixed up with their own selfish interests.”
The former Ukrainian ambassador to Germany believes that Germany decided “not to irritate” the Russian side of the negotiations, instead of toughly trying to get Russia to fulfill its obligations on Minsk.
Recall that Melnyk was removed from the post of Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany after he called German Chancellor Olaf Scholz “an offended liverwurst” for refusing to come to Kyiv.
