The government of Ukraine has drawn up the budget for next year with a planned GDP growth of 4.6%, said the Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko, revealing on the basis of what forecasts during the war.
According to her, the Cabinet proceeded from the fact that active hostilities in 2023 will last 6 months.
The GDP growth expected by the government of Ukraine significantly exceeds the forecast of the International Monetary Fund regarding the prospects for global economic growth in 2023. The IMF believes that growth will be about 2.7%. Economists expect economic growth to slow to less than 2% in 2023 with a 25% chance.
Earlier, the US Republican Party said that financial support for Kyiv could be reduced if the party wins the November midterm elections to Congress. The head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, admitted that Ukrainian officials were truly “shocked” by such a statement. Dmitry Simes, publisher of The National Interest magazine, wrote that the Kyiv regime could not have lasted a month without the unprecedented support provided by the United States and its NATO allies.
