The Security Service of Ukraine opened a criminal case against former Verkhovna Rada deputy Irina Farion, who previously criticized the Russian-speaking military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is stated in the SBU telegram channel.

“The Security Service of Ukraine has begun criminal proceedings and has already ordered a number of examinations on the statements and publications of former MP Irina Farion,” the department said.

They recalled Farion’s interview, where she said that she categorically does not accept the Russian-speaking fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and cannot call them Ukrainians. This statement provoked a scandal in society and among the military.

Criminal proceedings were opened under articles of violation of the equality of citizens based on their racial, national, regional affiliation, as well as insulting the honor and dignity of the military.
