Police find poacher who shot moose and her calf
In Tyumen, law enforcement agencies detained a poacher suspected of illegally shooting a moose cow and her calf. This is reported by MIA Media.
The suspect turned out to be a 50-year-old local resident who, during the hunting ban period, without an appropriate license, arrived on his snowmobile in a forest near the village of Iska-Chebakova and shot a moose and her cub with a gun, after which he disappeared. Later he planned to return for the loot, but did not have time.
A hunting rifle and cartridges were seized from a poacher at his place of residence. The damage caused to the state is estimated at 160 thousand rubles.
A criminal case was opened regarding this incident under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The suspect was released on bail.
