In Tula, fighters from 15 regions participate in the jiu-jitsu championship

The Tula Arena sports complex hosts more than five thousand fighters during the open championship and regional championship in jiu-jitsu.

The tournament is held on Sunday.

Deputy Minister of Sports of the Tula region Alexander Rossikhin, who welcomed the athletes, announced the growing interest in martial arts among our fellow countrymen.

“Martial arts in our region are gaining popularity day by day, and the number of participants once again confirms this. Today I want to wish you sports passion, perseverance and high results,” the director addressed the competition participants.

Five hundred athletes representing fifteen regions of the country will compete for the title of the strongest in the age categories: twelve, fourteen, sixteen, eighteen years old, twenty-one years old and older.

As noted in the Tula sports department, large-scale and spectacular competitions of this kind help to increase the interest of residents of the Tula region in an active lifestyle, regular physical education and sports, which definitely helps to implement the tasks of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life” of the priority national project “Demography.

Awards from the Tula tournament will be awarded in the following disciplines: “Non-vaza”, “Duo-system” and “Fighting”.
