RIA Novosti, citing the authorities of the Zaporozhye region, reports that the shutdown mode of the last operating power unit of the Zaporozhye NPP allows for a restart.

Earlier, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, explained that the shutdown of the 6th power unit of the station was undertaken due to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and damage to power lines.

According to him, the constantly changing mode of operation of reactors and turbines could lead to an accident at the station.

On Sunday night, the 6th power unit of the station, the last of the operating ones, was stopped. Thus, on September 11, the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was completely stopped. Preparations for cooling the reactor were also reported.

It was also reported that the city of Energodar, near which the nuclear power plant is located, continues to receive electricity. The head of the city administration, Alexander Volga, said that “in some areas, work is underway to turn on transformers, but this mainly concerns the industrial zone.” The residential sector, according to him, is fully illuminated.
